9th November 2024, Glastonbury, Somerset
Winter gatherings are a great chance to meet us for the first time if you're unsure about joining for a longer event. Or, if you've already fallen-in with our Wild ways, they are an opportunity we offer to re-meet old friends and companions from other events throughout the year. They are also a great way to raise money for our Bursary Fund to help women-in-need attend our events year round.
Our guest this year will be the fabulous storyteller Lisa Schneidau - author of books on Botanical, River, and Woodland folktales of Britain and Ireland.
Hares have forever been associated with Goddesses, witches, and the moon - as omens, familiars and shapeshifters... They are elusive and quick, but also, as folklore would have it, proud and tricksy. Our day will centre around a series of magical explorations of the beauty and intelligence of this wild creature, in myth and reality. And, as with all Wild Women Winter gatherings, there will be the usual sprinkling of song, ceremony, storytelling, sharing, crafts, mirth, meditation, and plenty of time for mingling.
This year, we'll be back in the centre of Glastonbury town, at the our old venue - The Assembly Rooms. It's a great spot for popping out for a bit of High Street shopping. We provide welcome refreshments and you can grab lunch or a sandwich in town, or bring something packed.
As usual, for those who want to stay over or make a longer outing of it, there will be optional extra opportunities after the main programme. The team will be out for a meal and a social on Saturday evening; any early-risers could catch a morning walk up the Tor on Sunday; and...this year, (for those who book), we have the privilege of the White Spring all to ourselves on Sunday lunchtime! Don't miss the chance to sing with us and dip in the sacred waters, in this profound private ritual space.
White Spring ritual tickets are limited and only available alongside an event ticket!
